Excavation & site preparation
Foundations, trenches and grading for builds across the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. Get the ground right and the rest of the project behaves.
What we dig
A bad excavation gets paid for twice: once when it's done, and again when someone has to fix what was built on it. We quote from a site walk, dig to spec, and leave the site ready for the next crew.
- Foundation and basement digs. To spec, clean edges, spoil managed instead of piled where the framers need to stand.
- Site prep and grading. Level where it should be level, sloped where water needs convincing.
- Trenching. Water, power, drainage and utility runs.
- Lot reshaping. Cut and fill that turns an awkward slope into a yard you can use.
- Tear-downs and removal. Sheds, concrete and old structures. More on the demolition page.
- Drainage ground work. The digging behind perimeter drains and yard drainage.
If you're not sure what your project needs, that's fine. Describe what you're trying to do and we'll tell you what the ground work involves before you spend anything.
Walk it, dig it, hand it over
Walk the site
We look at access, slopes, soil and what's likely underground before we quote. The number you get is the number you pay.
Dig it right
Utilities located first. Clean edges, spoil handled properly, and protection for whatever is staying: septic fields, mature trees, the landscaping you already paid for.
Leave it ready
Graded, compacted where it counts, and tidy. Ready for your foundation crew, your builder, or the next phase we're doing with you.
We price from a site walk, and the number we give you is the number you pay. If something underground could change it, you hear that in writing first.
Digging here is its own trade
Rain-country grading
The clay around here holds water, and water looks for foundations. A site that drains fine in August can pond in November, so we grade for the wet season, not the day of the dig.
Rock, roots and tight lots
Rocky ground and tight urban infill lots need different machines and different plans. We size the equipment to your actual site.
Covered, on every job
Insured and WorkSafeBC covered. The person quoting it is the person digging it, first walk to final grade.
